Finding Bargain Gifts
Author: JoshI thought I would continue my theme of gift buying this week. We discussed several ways to find good bargains last week. To add to that is the idea of setting up some alerts on specific items. You can find some info on this from an earlier post at http://mommydaddysavers.com/blog/?p=73. Two other good sites to check out are http://www.dealalerter.com/ and http://www.dealcatcher.com. You can set up both these sites to check a particular gift you are wanting to purchase. DealAlerter will email you when the price drops to the point you have specified. DealCatcher emails you daily or weekly.
One of my all time favorite bargain gift ideas for family members is a home-made calendar with each month featuring pictures of your new baby. Perfect for parents, grandparents and other close relatives. A few photo sites will make calendars for you: http://www.KodakGallery.com/CalOverview.jsp starts at $19.99 and goes down with orders of more than 24, http://www.ShutterFly.com/shop/photo_calendars/product_c10014 is $19.99 for the first and $14.99 for additional ones, and http://www1.snapfish.com/helppricing#calendars is $18.99 for standard calendar and more for fancier options. You could also check pricing at photo processing centers in stores such as Walgreens, Costco, and Sams Club.
